There are a few zones of Tamriel that have had their time in the spotlight of a mainline game but haven't been made explorable in Elder Scrolls Online. Other titles have featured different eras and different zones of Tamriel, including the disputed island of Solstheim, all of Skyrim, all of Cyrodiil, the island of Stros M'Kai of Hammerfell, and Morrowind's central island Vvardenfell. The Elder Scrolls Online is set in 2E 583, taking place before all the other mainline titles in The Elder Scrolls thus far. With the incredibly diverse and picturesque landscapes found across Tamriel, each region deserves its own legendary tale.
Elder Scrolls Online has updated most of the previously explored regions, though it has also incorporated new areas that had previously only been mentioned in in-game books or alluded to in conversations with NPCs, with no main title of their own.
The Elder Scrolls series spans hundreds of years of history and takes place across many of the different regions of Tamriel.
